Yes, You Can!

1207662328_56b942483e_bA healthy, happy ,confident child doesn’t just happen! From the very first months of infancy, parents begin to instill in their child, these three qualities.

Remember the first time your baby tried to roll over, the first time he or she rode a bike, the first time your teenager drove by herself? Hopefully, in each one of these situations, you let them know you had faith in their ability to roll over, to ride a bike, to drive a car, and you didn’t do it for them or prevent them from trying.

The most important thing we can do for our children is to let them try, fail, and try again. It is through this process they learn confidence. By freeing them to try and fail, we create children who feel empowered – secure in their own ability to succeed in whatever they attempt.

The parent who is fearful (we all are!) but willing to let go for the sake of their child, will raise children who are happy, healthy and confident. Their children know that mom and dad are supportive, encouraging and cheering them on.
