Holiday Crafts To Do With The Kids

The holiday season is the perfect time to spend with your children or grandchildren. What’s better than doing various crafts with your kids or grand-kids and having fun with it? This article shows three different crafts that you can do with your kids during the holiday season!

This craft is so much fun and perfect for the fall season! Have your kids try this with different paints and different sized leaves!

Here’s what you need:

  • Leaves
  • Acrylic paints
  • Baking Sheet
  • Pan (Optional)

1. Start by squirting different colored acrylic paints onto a baking a sheet in the general shape of a leaf. It’s easy if you lay the baking sheet on a pan for clean up purposes.

2. Have your kid press the leaf into the paint and then carefully place the leaf onto the paper. (Make sure to place the leaf vein-side down).

3. Peel back the leaf to reveal a beautiful fall print!

4. Let your kid’s creation dry.

This craft will surely make a statement on the tree.

Here’s what you need:

  • White acrylic craft paint
  • Sponge brush
  • Round ornaments
  • Empty egg carton for drying
  • Black and orange sharpie markers

1. Have your kid paint one of their hands with the white acrylic craft paint and use the sponge brush to spread the paint all over the hand. (Or you can put the paint on a tray and have your kid dip their hand in it).

2. Place the ornament in the palm of your child’s hand. Tell them to hold the ornament like they’re holding a tennis ball in their hand for a few seconds.

3. Take the ornament from their hand and place in an empty egg carton to dry.

4. Once the paint is dry, take the black and orange markers and draw snowman details! For instance, with the black marker draw buttons, face, and a hat. With the orange marker draw a carrot nose!

If your child is a little older have them do this fun activity and place it on the mantel!

Here’s what you need:

  • Paper plate
  • Tissue paper
  • Double sided tape

1. Take one of your paper plates and make it into a cone shape. Use double sided tape to secure the cone together.

2. Twist little pieces of green tissue paper and wrap it around the tree.

3. Use double sided tape to secure the tissue paper around the cone.

This activity is so much fun to do and you can use different colored tissue paper to make multiple trees!
